5 Super Spring Break Staycation Ideas

At-Home Spa Day

Grab your friends or family and some facemasks! An at-home spa day is just what the doctor ordered for your spring break staycation. You can make this as big and fancy or as lowkey as you like. Invest in things like plush new robes for everyone and high-quality sheet masks if you want to up your game.  Set out fruit trays and drinks to enjoy while you soak in your hot tub. Once you are ready for a break from soaking, have loungers set up to lay on and outdoor heaters to make your space nice and toasty. You can use your fancy facemasks to increase the relaxation factor. 

Movie Marathon

If spa days aren’t your thing, try a movie or TV show marathon from the comfort of your hot tub, swim spa, or heated swimming pool. Set up a large blanket in the backyard. Using your phone with a projector, you will be good to stream whatever you want in no time, even if you don’t have fancy outdoor equipment.  Let everyone vote on a movie or TV show that they love. Pop popcorn and have other typical movie snacks out. You can sometimes even find boxes of candy for $1 each. Throw in drinks, and you have yourself an incredible fun-filled day.

Relay Races

Relay races are the way to go on your spring break staycation if you have younger kids or a more active group. Set up different relays around your backyard for everyone to compete. You can do it individually or in teams. Maybe even grab or make a trophy to give out to the winners at the end.

Cook Off

If your gang is looking for a fun way to spend the day, use your outdoor kitchen to host a cook off. Make it a food-specific event or open it to whatever your family members want to make. All you will have to provide is the space and the drinks. This will make for an economical way to enjoy your outdoor space with everyone you love.

Outdoor Picnic and Scavenger Hunt

Finally, if you just need to relax and unwind, spending time outdoors is good for body and soul. Pack up a picnic and print off some nature scavenger hunt pages for your kids. You can visit a local park, creek, greenway or area close by and make the most of the day together. Your whole family may agree that these activities and ideas are just as fun as a vacation away!
