Can You Use a Hot Tub in the Summer?

Now that we have blasted off into summer, you may be looking for ways to beat the heat. You’ve got a hot tub, but the idea of soaking in 102-degree water when the air temperature feels nearly that warm just doesn’t appeal. Memories of nighttime dips in the cool autumn air and recalling the steam of the water during a winter soak are pleasant but seem very far off. As you look at your neglected hot tub, you may be asking yourself, “Can I use a hot tub in the summer?” Our answer is an emphatic … YES! We will share some tips on how you can continue to use your hot tub morning, noon, and night no matter what the thermometer outside tells you.

Morning Energizing

Beginning in the cooler temperatures of the morning,  take a dip in the hot tub. Morning soaks are energizing and can help you gain focus for the day. When you combine some low-impact exercises with your morning hot tub session you can gain strength, tone your muscles, and even lose weight. Try some thigh lifts, chest presses, bicep curls, and torso crunches. You won’t feel like you are working out, yet if you keep at it, you will see results. Emerge from the tub refreshed and ready to get on with your day.

Noon Cool Down

You can actually use your hot tub as a “cool tub” in the heat of the day. With Caldera Spa’s CoolZone™ cooling system you can quickly lower the water temperature in your spa. It works similarly to an air conditioner, getting that water down to a refreshing level that will leave you feeling cool as a cucumber. Beat the heat by turning your hot tub into a cooling plunge pool. It’s true that you won’t have to lower the temperature by much to feel the effects. Anything lower than your body temperature is going to feel great. If things are a bit sunny where your hot tub is placed, set up a shade umbrella and shield yourself from the glare and heat.

Night Time is the Best Time

With the Caldera CoolZone system mentioned above, it doesn’t take long to raise the temperature of your hot tub back up to a level comfortable enough for an evening soak. Using your hot tub in the evening is wonderful for socializing with friends, bonding with family members, and even kindling a little romance with your spouse. When the air temperature begins to cool down at the end of the day, a dip in the hot tub is the perfect way to relax away stress and tension. You may find that it even improves the quality of your sleep. An additional boon is that the hot tub’s hydrotherapy effects will soothe those muscles you used earlier in the day when you worked out!   If your hot tub has been sitting neglected during the heat of the summer, you might want to consider using it again. You absolutely can use a hot tub in the summer, at any time of the day. Just because it is called a “hot” tub, doesn’t mean you can’t cool it down and use it to refresh yourself on scorching days. Also, using it during the cooler times of the day (morning and evening) you can enjoy the best of all worlds! Fronheiser Pools is here for you with all your hot tub supplies.
