Regular Water Testing and Balancing

Maintaining balanced water chemistry is key. In extreme heat, water can evaporate quickly, causing chemical levels to fluctuate. We recommend testing your pool water at least twice a week during high temperatures. Focus on maintaining the proper levels of chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness. For chlorine, keep levels between 1 and 3 parts per million (ppm). For pH, aim for a range of 7.2 to 7.6. Total alkalinity should be between 80 and 120 ppm, and calcium hardness should range from 180 to 220 ppm. Proper water chemistry ensures the safety and comfort of swimmers and prolongs the life of your pool equipment.

Optimize Filtration and Circulation During Pool Maintenance

Shock Your Pool

Shocking your pool is a pool maintenance staple, and the practice helps eliminate contaminants and maintain water clarity. We recommend shocking your pool weekly during extreme heat. Use Poolife Turbo Shock or another Poolife oxidizer product. Always broadcast the shock product evenly across the pool water with the pump running. Brush away any remnants from the pool surface towards the deep-end drains.
